I saw this when it was still in previews (saw Diane Sawyer there, too), and after the show was done, I left hoarse from laughter. It has the irreverence of Matt and Trey combined with the finesse of Robert Lopez which takes the audience on a journey through poverty-stricken Uganda. It is simultaneously a satire and a tribute to the Church of Latter Day Saints. While they clearly poke fun at their theological inconsistencies, racially insensitive history, and opposition to homosexuality, the Mormons are ultimately likable for their fortitude and morally upstanding character.
