That's pretty great that you're prepared to upgrade the video quality, thanks Thrash!

Personally I don't mind the lesser quality of the VODs at all, but that extra work is appreciated.

I'm doing the best with the sources provided. Sorry you're underwhelmed by them, but the mpg2 in particular is pretty much a lossless copy of the source that was used. Different collections have sources of varying quality and the work plate is constantly full over here so we're not always able to search for the highest quality transfers...I don't think the movie is anywhere near unwatchable, though.

I don't mean to be rude here, but I'm really not interested in an argument, just stating the facts as a trained video professional who wouldn't allow something to be released if the quality really hampered the enjoyability of the humor THAT much. (Also something I will not argue about.) That said, point me toward the version that you have on DVD and I'm more than willing to make an upgrade - that goes for any of the VOD releases (I did get the message about Laser Mission, eegah) and I'm working on upgrades for Crater Lake Monster and Laser Mission; the aforementioned full-plate just makes that take a little extra time, but they're coming soon since I have some breathing room on the schedule coming up.

This is what makes you, and RiffTrax, so awesome. Thank you.

I totally understand. It is difficult to find good sources for these, and I'd hate for that to hold up your releases.

Perhaps the best way to do this is exactly what you are doing: in the cases where the source is sub-par, release it as is, wait for us fans to find a better source, then release an upgrade (replace the old download copy). I suppose an alternate plan would be to put out a request for a good copy of a particular movie before you do the riff, but that doesn't seem like it would work with the timing of how you normally handle your releases.

Thanks for the reply and acknowledging my complaint. Wasn't my intent to be overly critical and sorry if it came off that way. Still enjoying the VOD releases despite my complaint and hope they keep coming.

Ran into somes issues and ran out of time last night working on my syncing the riffed audio to the better quality widescreen version of Warriors that I  picked up. Will send you details of the alternate source once I get back to it and can investigate how significant the problems I ran into are going to be and can investigate the source of this particular DVD (there appear to be several out there)-might not be until the weekend.

I have a BD quality source that I'm working from.

Yeah the source files for Crater Lake Monster almost line up ok with the Blu-ray. I had to add little bits throughout the whole riff to get everything in sync. Took me a few hours to get it perfect. I used a 1080p rip of the Mill Creek BD and then just for space concerns and back up abilities dropped it down to 720p. Looks gorgeous!

Well in addition to my widescreen DVD of Warriors, I tracked down 2 other widescreen versions- all of which are longer than the riffed VOD by 4 to 10 minutes. Per imdb, the UK version seems to be the version most close in length to the riffed version, but found some info indicating that the movie contains an extended rape scene that was cut from some releases that likely is the cause of the differences in version lengths. Not sure if I care enough to try and compare and cut that scene to see-will probably just give up and watch the VOD this weekend instead.

Is there a possibility that these VODs will be available on DVD? Because they look awesome, but I can only get the DVD version.

From the Buffalo Rider thread:
It's probably a little premature to ask this.

Just a bit. There are no plans as of yet, we'll have to see how well the VOD does.
Same applies here.

The only widescreen DVD of Warriors that I found was a non-US title: "The New Barbarians". Is that very different?
