RiffTrax Discussion > Laser Mission
So, how successful was the mission?....
AbsoluteDeicide:
I give it a 9, rounded up from 8.5 or so. I thought it was very funny throughout, with some great one-liners and running gags. "This scene reminds me of a video game where I'm somewhere I'm not supposed to be, and I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing." Great choice of a movie to riff for sure. Kudos to whoever dug that one out of whatever pit it came from.
The only major problem I had was the audio; most of the movie sounded like it was recorded with the actors inside a submarine and the microphone in the ocean. I'm sure that's just how the movie really sounds, but I kept wondering if the download was bad because there were only one or two riffs reguarding that. The actual Rifftrax sounded great as usual, though.
Overall it was hilarious. Keep up the good work, guys.

Yeah, the foley artist and sound man did not win any awards for this one.

I get the sense that many of the problems are related to the source, or processing by the rifftrax folks. I've watched this before and I don't remember it being this bad. But there are definitely problems at the film-making level.

This one is not on us. The source really is just THAT bad.

Really, after all the lavish spending on chopping melons, you cannot fault them for skimping on the sound budget.
