Nowhere near the heights of comedy like the Marx brothers, Chaplin, Keaton, etc., but I've always enjoyed their humor (esp lately for some reason). For me,
nobody does lowbrow slapstick better. I'm always like "I shouldn't be laughing at this... but I am. I'm gonna go with it."
Which is exactly how I felt about the trailer. I laughed at the iPhone joke, the hitting, the antics. And if you don't like the Stooges, then, yeah, not sure why this movie
should entertain you any differently. You're probably looking for something like the made-for-tv movie "The Three Stooges" made in 2000 with Michael Chiklis as Curly. I think any non-Stooge fan could enjoy that. And FWIW, this movie looks a million times better than anything post-Shemp (their cartoon show a shining example of awfulness),
I think The Stooges worked pretty well in 15-20 minute shorts... I don't know if their shtick, whether it was the original guys from the 1940s or this current cast today, can sustain 90 minutes in a feature. But unless it just gets universally brutalized, it's something I'd likely rent/stream at some point.
Good news. From what I remember, the movie should be a series of shorts. Not sure if they changed that, and I'm too lazy to check right now.EDIT: Just read the plot synopsis.
