Well, I am sure his vampire won't $&#%@ sparkle! This does seem like a really wierd move for him to make, but at least he is doing what he wants to do. He clearly wasn't really interested in retiring like he talked about a few years ago.

Yep, he just revealed this in a brutally honest confession:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/zb72V_4N5ko?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/zb72V_4N5ko?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

Poor guy, Stephenie Meyer's just in a league of her own  :(

Okay I have only seen the movie but if it is anything like the book I don't see how there is room for a sequel and i sure don't see how you would fit vampires into it.

The book is kind of like the movie, the tv mini series is closer to the book in most regards.

The book isn't exactly an easy thing to write a successful sequel to but potentially it could be done, Danny does have the powers at the end of it and presumably would retain those into adulthood so the set up could work.

Not saying it'll be great but equally it might not be an unmitigated disaster.

In the past, King has threatened to pair off Danny with the girl from "Firestarter." That sounds a lot more interesting than this particular setup.

Are they going to breed and takeover the world? Because if not, that idea is WASTED

Not a King fan (though I really enjoyed the Dead Zone), but from what I understand, it's heavily implied in The Dark Tower books that all the books take place in the same universe/multiverse, so it would be reasonable that Lot's (ha, wordplay!) of characters from the other books should show up for the next one.

So he's pulling a Michael Moorcock? Trying to tie all  his works together into a Magnum Opus?

Pretty much. No albino swordsmen from the Future though sadly.

Loosely related to the "IT" post I'd also like to remind everyone that book has the creepiest/weirdest ending I've ever read.
