This video is NOT 'adorable'.  It is disturbing.  [As will be this post: fair warning.]

But for those who care about the slow loris (that incredibly cute large-eyed primate posted a few times in the last page of this thread): they are an endangered species illegal to own as pets.  And this shows how they are treated prior to being put into a tiny box where they inevitably die before their normal lifespan would give out.

From Wikipedia: Slow lorises have a toxic bite, a rare trait among mammals. The toxin is produced by licking a gland on their arm, and the secretion mixes with its saliva to activate it....     Slow lorises have their teeth cut or pulled out for the pet trade, and often die from infection, blood loss, poor handling, or poor nutrition.

This site may, or may not, be fully legit (i.e. I don't know what % of any donations go for the actual work), but the people creating the site (the same as those in the above video) appear to actually care, so unlikely to be outright fraudulent: Dr Anna Nekaris' Little Fireface Project

No, I agree, they are cute but the trade in them is horrendous, and I didn;t know about it until I looked up the little beasties after both of the previous vids were posted.

It's really sad. :(

The new fawns are out in force near my house. You come across them late at night sometimes, out doing the frolicking thing with the rest of the family. Only, while Mom and Dad pull off the road when a car (slowly) pulls forward, these guys just sort of skip ahead down the street. Which is unfortunate, since it turns into a street that's got an iron fence on one side an a very steep grade on the other, so they're effectively stuck there and don't quite know where to go. And we have to inch along behind them while they figure it out, until Mom and Dad get frustrated, bolt around the side of the car, and herd them down the hill to parts unknown, possibly for a solid chewing out and/or licking.

...sorry, not sure where all that came from. Here, have some cat supremacy:

True blue mates! Orphaned kangaroo and wombat are inseparable friends

Quote
Opposites can attract and Anzac a doe-eyed baby kangaroo has become best friends with Peggy, a tiny squint-eyed wombat.  Their unlikely union developed after the pair -  both orphans - shared a pouch at the Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre in Victoria, Australia. At just over five months old, Anzac was brought to the centre after being rescued in the Macedon Ranges. The joey is in the mother kangaroo's pouch for about eight months, depending on the species, but Anzac was abandoned a few months before he was ready to be free. Luckily he was placed with Peggy, who was also feeling lonely and the two now sleep together, reducing the amount Anzac misses his mum.  Worker Lisa Milligan explained the unlikely friends are comforted by each others movement and heartbeat.
