Exercise Hooray!!!
« on: September 25, 2011, 08:33:13 PM »
A lot of people on this thread have expressed the fact that they do some sort of exercise. This is the thread to talk about exercise and health goals.

I like to walk or walk/jog on a treadmill. At some point I would like to go running in a park.

What exercise do you guys like to do?

Now that the weather has ticked a but under a 100, there is a nice three mile area around my house I like to plug in my iphone and go walking.   I've done running before and always hated it.    Oh, and dumbells every other day.

I work out doing wieght lifting with a personal trainer twice a week. Whenever I am in the mood (read: seldom) I go in and do cardio on the eliptical or treadmill. I would actually be in spectacular shape if I didn't eat unhealthy after work so much.

What do you mean Darth? I think a lot of things we eat are not unhealthy if we eat them in moderation I find

But then life would be boring.

A personal trainer?    Are you striving to look like Ed Norton in "American History X" or Lou Ferigno in any "Hulk" episode?

In August I ordered a pair of Bowflex adjustable dumbells (each can be adjusted up to 52.5 pounds) from Amazon.com and I felt so sorry for the poor UPS driver who had to take them to my door!

After a long day at work, I generally do not feel like going out again, so I have to do stuff at home as I would not want to drive to a gym to get with a personal trainer.

That's why I make sure I go to the gym before I go home. Wants I'm home, that's where I stay!

I lift and ride a bike. (Not simultaneously.)

I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride my bike.
I want to ride my bicycle. I want to ride it where I like.

I could definitely eat better, and drink a lot less.

Let's see.

I like cable weight lifting. I do a bit of treadmill dancing. I ride a bike, I play tennis, I go running every day when its not nasty out, I walk the dogs a couple of miles a couple of times a day. Oh and I love roller blading (technically inline skating but sod that the brand name sounds better):

Yep, really like roller blading.

I try to run three times a week.  More often than not, it ends up being twice a week.  I need to add some weight training too.

No, because then I would have a girlfriend.

even though im overweight, i go to karate four times a week so im in pretty good shape if that makes any sense. let me put it this way, for my black belt test i had to do 90 pushups in 90 seconds, 70 crunches in under a minute and stay in a plank for four minutes ( plank is holding your self off the ground using your forearms and feet all one right after the other.(plank is think of the "up" pushup position and but resting on your forearms and keeping your body perfectly straight and off the ground)  and continuously spar for 4 minutes against a roster of people.

I was exercising pretty well in Mexico City. They had a (crappy) gym at the hotel and I walked everywhere. I haven't done anything since I got home :( Give me some motivation!
