
That was such a horrible format. The discs and the players would both wear out. Some dust causing the tiniest scratch on the disc would cause it to skip at that spot forever, and the players used a needle that would wear out.
Back when the format died out you could pick up the players for practical nothing, and the discs got super cheap also but there were only crappy movies left to choose from. I remember picking up a player and a few discs for $20 back in the mid 80s.
But the discs were cool to look at if you took them out of the shell, wish I still had one to hang on the wall.
