Majel Barrett was the only actor to appear in every Star Trek series but Michael Dorn as Worf has “appeared” in the most - tied at 20 years starring as the same character in continuous years :o

Perhaps I should have been more clear. Same actor, but not necessarily always in the same role.

I was thinking it had to be Worf or O'Brien for max number of episodes, but if you include the computer voice Majel is the clear winner.

I am surprised Worf wins out over O'Brien, I guess Worf must have been in more TNG episodes since O'Brien was in just about every DS9 episode.

And unfortunately the best things Denise Crosby would be known for years later aside from being on TNG was her appearances on Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Dexter.

don't worry, you'll still get to use the weird date ordering.

Now I'm just wondering why Mark Hamill never did a cameo on any Star Trek series (that I know of).

I think it was because casting people followed the logic that people hearing a name forever associating it with a competing franchise. Therefore I think they were afraid casting him in anything might take away from the other actors on the show... or something.

I'm quite sure if Mark Hamill wanted to guest star on an episode in any of the Star Trek series they would not have said no.

Most of the big name guest appearances happened because that person wanted to be on the show and contacted someone, and the show figured out a way to work them in.  For example they didn't go after Whoopie Goldberg, she let someone know she wanted to guest star, and after that they would write stuff for her hoping she was available, if she wasn't those lines would go to Troi.

You're probably right Marty. Since for a long time I had no knowledge of what Mark was doing after ROTJ it would have been nice to see him in a guest appearance on TNG or DS9. It would have been... The Best of Both Worlds? Huh? Huh?  ;D
