If they want to get even more asses to fill seats for Avengers 2... they need to bribe, sign contracts and so forth because they need to somehow get Wolverine and Spider-man into that movie as Major players. Seriously... nerdgasms will risk drowning us all in nerdy gushing.

Fingers crossed Jan shows up though, saw a fan trailer where they'd cast Selma Blair as Wasp and, if she didn't play it mopey (which is a big if) I could be down with. The same trailer also had Paul Giamatti as M.O.D.O.K. which would be fantastic.

I don't know if Wolverine and Spiderman are exactly the characters that appeal to the "nerds"* so much as characters that just about everyone knows, so including them would be done more in the service of having a wider general audience not causing "nerdgasms". Looking at how this movie did I doubt anyone's seriously thinking "we need to add characters everyone knows or else the next film won't do well".

* still don't understand why anyone would voluntarily call themselves that.

I'm actually really hoping they don't increase the roster at all for the next movie. Yeah, I would like to see some characters on screen we haven't yet. But more importantly, I don't want the series to get bogged down with too many characters. This one was great in that they were able to give everyone something good to do.  I don't want them to compromise that just for fanservice.

I would like to see a Hawkeye movie. And before this movie, I NEVER would have even thought I would say that. Same thing with Black Widow.

I really want to see an Agent Caulsen moovie, though. I think if they did that, it would be successful.

I think it would be more of a side story happening at the same time as the other movies. Like they did with that cool short on the (IIRC) Captain America BluRay.

They have talked about it. Right after Avengers came out and Hulk was such an audience favorite. They are working on scripting now probably. I'm really hoping they bring Tim Blake Nelson back as The Leader.

I just realized that Tony Stark and Bruce Banner met in the stinger of The Incredible Hulk.  I guess they were ignoring that in The Avengers since they seemed to meet for the first time.

And yes, Tim Blake Nelson is awesome.

Huh? The end scene of The Incredible Hulk has Stark meeting General Ross, not Banner.
