Is that just parallax that allows us the different angles?
According to the website it is a conversion from a 2D image. At 2400 light years combined with it being a rather large object I don't think the parallax from the orbit of the Earth would show that much change of the nebula and background.
That area should be covered in the HIPPARCOS catalog, so all the star positions could be put into a 3D modeling program and an accurate 3D model generated, but it doesn't look like the artist did that.
