After descending a few hundred feet from the summit of Mount Timpanogos (11,780') I took a 15min break at the saddle and let a few long exposures roll. The lightning was pounding to the west and headed right for me, not exactly the best time to be above the tree line. I abandoned my plans of camping and within the hour bolts were cracking overhead as I made a long, wet, and terrifying dash down the 7+ mile trail with a full pack.
This composite image was taken over the course of 12min. 
35 photos total ranging from 8 - 15 seconds each as the light faded.

the shoot was probably taken from another turbine which stands next to this turbine or from a helicopter.

So not super conclusive but somewhat of a resolution.

The power of just sending off an email!  Something you never think of doing because you figure nobody would bother responding.    I am always surprised when that works and actually get a response.

I did that once when I saw an old music video of a song I liked and it was listed as "Version 2" of the video.  I didn't remember any other versions and got stumped trying to find any info online about it.  So I found the artist's personal website (which she ran herself) and sent in a question through that.  5 minutes later, I got a reply from her directly. (Turns out there was just a slightly different edit of the video.)

Spent some time trying to get an image of Venus this afternoon, 5 days before it passes in front of the sun.  Tomorrow is going to be cloudy and after that it's getting so close to the sun it would be very hard to get a picture.  Even today the sun was heating up the scope making the image extra wavy and the sky so bright Venus barely stood out.  But the magic of stacking a few good frames out of thousands taken with a webcam and a little post processing gives you this:
