"Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper.
Awesome only to me, perhaps. This is my favorite painting. I first saw it as a young sailor back in 1986 at the Art Institute of Chicago. I sat and looked at it all day.
Once in a very rare time, you make a connection with a piece of art. It could be a song. A play. For me, it was this. I have a reproduction on my wall and sometimes I just
stare at it and wish I could go into the painting.

I've seen a few homages to Hopper's pic.  This is the one I had handy.


I grew up about 20 miles outside Chicago, so visits to the assorted museums there were more-or-less common.  And yeah, seeing or hearing a piece of art one loves is transformative.

I wish I could find one that I was sure I'd seen at some point: it had The Tick and Arthur in the man and woman's seats, with - I think - Die Fledermaus in the foreground seat.

there's one in the first issue of the comic book, but it's just got the tick in it (replacing the guy in green). the other people are the same as they are in the original.

This picture is actually called "Nightmads" not Night Bots as you have labeled it. It was done by Jean Jackson who has done a lot of MST3K art.

And oh yeah, when you steal my pictures, I tend to get annoyed. Cropping it doesn't change it to yours.
