What about Scotty and Uhura? Is it over between them?

I guess they (smartly) decided to drop the whole creepy romance between Uhura and Scotty from Star Trek V. I was hoping that they'd at least have some knowing glances or something, but they just seemed to igore each other completely in this movie.

I'm by no means a trekkie, but I think it's fairly well-known that there was no love lost between Doohan and Shatner. If I had to guess, Shatner purposely threw Scotty into an embarassing sub-plot just to be a prick.

I know when I saw their "moment" in STV, we all looked at each other and went HUH??!?!   I mean, sure, they have been on the same ship(s) with each other for 30 years or so, so a romance makes sense (they are both single and all), but to have a romance pop up, then do nothing with it in the very next film is pretty sloppy film making.
