[Haha, you're right...I gues Loggia just decided that "hey, he won the tournament, that must mean he's a capable father; I suppose I'll drop the charges and let him have my Grandson"

And really, after spending just 90 minutes with that little brat, wouldn't you give him away to the first truck driver with anger issues you ran into also?

I just read that Bull died in 2003.

RIP Bull and his feces-based insults.

I liked this one. When Mike started talking about how a monkey should be in the film, it made a lot of sense. Tons of 80s movies seemed to have monkeys in them for some reason. I can't believe the movie seemed to side with Stallone's character over the grandfather. Yeah, the kid would have a much better life with a usually down-on-his-luck trucker with no permanent home than his rich and settled grandfather. Whatever, 80s movie.

I thought this was pretty solid for a solo-riffer trax.

My Take is now posted (with a free preview)

Uh-oh, looks like Lincoln Hawk/s was caught with 'roids in Australia.

I wonder if they will strip him of his arm wrestling title of 20 years ago?

I don't think he'd have been the only one on steroids in that movie...

I thought the whole scene with Stallone walking away from the gate at Robert Loggia's mansion was hilarious. The whole, I'll just leave without a fuss dialog ending with "Ha ha I fooled you!"

Plus Disembaudio had a pretty good line when he said that the relationship between Stallone and his son was going to be rocky.

You guys are gonna be mad at me, but...

I wasn't all that impressed with this riff. Oh I laughed plenty, but it wasn't nearly as strong as the others. The movie basically riffed itself, and Mike was merely pointing out all its incompetencies. I found myself agreeing with Mike the whole time, rather than holding my sides from the amazing comedic revelations being bestowed upon me.

I felt it was more along the lines of The Fifth Element or X-Men.

Hmm...I'd probably disagree...yes the movie does almost riff itself, but Road House is even worse in that regard. When your villains shout out random lines like "I used to F#%@ guys like you in prison," how can you not automatically laugh?

My favorite riff from this one: "thanks to this movie, I now know what Stallone looks like when he's constipated."

And I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, what with all the references to it being a double-elimination tournament, but it shouldn't have been over.  Hawk beat Bull for his first loss in five years, ok.  But then they would have been even in the tournament with one loss each.  There should have been one more match!  It's a draw! (Or did the ref say 1 fall only for the finals?)
(Or did Mike's overabundance of riffs on the double-elimination rule establish all that and I'm just a rube for stating the bloody obvious?)

If he did, I missed it...I always thought that was the funniest plot gap I'd ever seen...

...Mike is hilarious for pointing out that everything in the movie is structured for Stallone to be the hero...

But even if he had to face Bull again and didn't win the second bout, he'd still be a winner in our hearts!   :'(
