I'm not entirely sure Activision do much of anything with regard to Blizzard.  They make so much money from their products, why interfere and potentially ruin everything?

I'll point to the no-longer existing Guitar Hero franchise which also made a lot of money for Activision and is now a dead entity. Same for Tony Hawk.

Look, I like Blizz. But Activision keeps making these bizarre decisions. The constant net access. Real ID.  The cash AH.  The race expansion packs for SC2. The CoD map packs. Call of Duty's subscription based Elite service.  Over and over again, we see the same pattern- over saturate the market, get as much money as possible out of the gamers as quickly as possible and then abandon it if it slows. And despite constant statements to the contrary by all parties, I strongly suspect that Activision will start using Blizz that way too if, say, Battlefield 3 does grab a decent chunk of the CoD market share and it stops being a cash cow for Acti.

Okay this seemed like a good thread to ask this question so here it goes.

I don't have highspeed so I hate this stuff but anyway I am a huge fan of the Mass Effect games so i was thinking of giving the Dragon age games a try but I can't think any solid info on if I have to be connected to the internet in order to play them on my PC.

Thanks for you help.

Sorry, I meant "I think so" as in "I think you can play it."  That's what I get for posting before having coffee and watching 2 kids by myself all week.  :D

That's why I was looking for some solid info.  You never can tell with PC games these days.

Yeah i am back.  I have been seeing a shrink for the past couple of months and I am doing much better then I was when i snapped.  I no longer flip out at random on people.  I think I am doing good enough to come back to the forum.  I am really looking forward to that Shadow iRiff.

Yeah Thanks.

I also got a cookie jar in the shape of the TARDIS.

Oh and I just found on bioware's website that you only need to be connected to the internet to use the DLC on DAO,you can play the core game fine without the internet.

Whoops. Thought you were asking about Mass Effect 1+2 and I didn't know it was you! Welcome back! I was genuinely saddened when you left the last time.

Yeah, glad to have you back man.  I really thought you got a raw deal last time, and while I didn't always agree with you, I didn't wish you any ill will.
