Well the more-mature G1 Transformers cartoon we've all been waiting for is out and it's made up of really, really short episodes.

Here's the first:

Kinda disappointed it's not full-sized episodes, but it's pretty, at least.

Coming soon from George R.R. Martin- Wild Cards, a gritty, somewhat realistic superhero story about a world where an alien plague was set loose and folks either gained powers and/or became mutated by the virus.

Okay, that's a bit misleading. Martin edited the series, but it was an anthology and about 20 other authors helped with the thing. Still, it's considered to be a classic of superpowered fiction, and we're at the point where we can pull some of the effects off.

I never read it, but it sounds interesting from what I read about it.  Unfortunately, the premise (which originated in the 80's) seems to have been used REALLY often since it debuted, so unfortunately, it makes it sound kind of unoriginal.  I'm hoping it's an anthology or quasi-anthology series.  But maybe because that's because I also want an Astro City series.

So Hulu secured a Marvel: Runaways series, meaning there's one other place I have to go if I want to see everything...

Ahhhh... it is a good time to be a comic book geek! ;D

[But I second the need for these being released to Blu-ray.]

Also, I mentioned this in the Random Thoughts thread, but MST3K is coming to Comet (the tv network) in early Sept.  Not sure which episodes they're going to show.

I'm hoping this is the theme song.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/usFFKNRB2z8" target="_blank" class="new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/usFFKNRB2z8</a>

But I basically hope that's the theme song for everything. I was disappointed in Hobo With a Shotgun, but the fact that this was the end theme was great.  I hope they got a great kid lined up for Molly.

That song is definitely awesome. I was introduced to it via Hobo With A Shotgun myself, love that movie. Speaking of news, that director is doing second unit on the Death Note movie coming to netflix. After that he's doing a movie based on a kooky 80s comic called New York City Outlaws.

I haven't looked to see if it is there yet, but the pilot for the new Tick show that someone k1 mentioned before is apparently available to view and vote on now:
