This is old news, but I missed it the first time around: Neil Cross wants to revive Sapphire and Steel.

If you haven't seen it, it's great. It's similar to Doctor Who except the heroes don't travel through time... at least not on purpose. Time travel IS a big part of the show, but the premise is that ancient, unknowable forces are trying to work their way into our world using weak points in time. They utilize anachronisms in order to do so (doctored photographs, a party where people pretend it's 50 years ago, an old nursery rhyme), messing with reality and time in the process. However, though the show is technically sci-fi, it's really a ghost story show, often with dark endings where our heroes are able to save reality, but it doesn't necessarily mean things are alright. If you have the chance, check it out. The first story is a little overlong, but it gets progressively better and has some great leads.
https://www.youtube.com/v/_gjHmEUiaxoI just hope Cross explores what I feel is the overarching theme of the series: humanity's sordid past coming back to bite them on the ass.
