Vimeo is now streaming 80 episodes of MST3k... and are actively working to secure the rights to EVERY EPISODE (presumably minus the KTMA seasons and sci-fi Summer Preview/Oscar specials).

Edit: Just wanted to post it for discussion.  I don't agree with the author.

...yeah...why have diversity for the sake of diversity?

Love that he misses the point of having diverse characters as a positive message when he actually brings up the cult popularity of Star Trek in an earlier point.  Imagine if Roddenberry had taken this guy's stance on diversity and had the bridge entirely peopled with white American characters.  How big a cultural impact would that have made?

Also, this might be the first time I've read a transcribed interview that got quite that hostile and defensive toward the end without first seeing a video of the argument.

Nickelodeon even had their own equivalent of Star Trek.

Wow. Totally snuck under my radar, but it seems there's a DVD set of the first season of Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Here it is for $12.96. Less than the cost of the Pizza you should buy to eat while watching it.

Yeah, that guy is full of it.  If the writing is good it doesn't matter what color the actors are.

Great point about Star Trek, make it a United States ship with an all white American crew and it would not have had the same cultural significance.  It would have been seen as cold war propaganda and probably forgotten about.

It also apparently extends to his other work.  From his horrorotica novel:
Quote
"But what was he doing? The girl back home, he had to admit, was not only skinnier, but was turning downright peaked. Her skin had changed from tortilla-chip Indian princess to that of an anemic goth girl. Then again, this he preferred. Perhaps she would, too? Maybe she wasn’t turning sickly, only more milky fresh?"

Has animation gotten worse?!
...and there he was, reigning supreme at number two.  The One... The Only... The Unabeefer.

Generally, no, but that don't look so good.  Probably doesn't help that it was animated in Canada.  Still, while I don't think it will make a huge improvement, I think that some of the animation may not be finished the polishing, considering how pixely it looked.  Clone High was the last thing Canada animated that was any good.

Awful theme song too, considering the original is insanely catchy.

Not that I was a fan, but I'm pretty sure that show for tiny children was not in need of a charm-ectomy.
