To make the source and riff files line up with the mpg audio, I needed to:

Cut 0.022 from the start of the riff file
Add 0.100 of silence to the start of the source file

You messed around with the source audio?  That knocks the audio out of sequence with the video.

Occasionally, the separate source and riff audio files don't line up with the audio in the mpg file. That is the case for this short. It's not a big difference here, but if you put the de-muxed audio, riff audio, and source audio files in audacity or some other audio editing tool, you'll see that they don't match up (by either playing them at the same time or just looking).
