Widescreen pictures of Star Trek are hard to find on the internet like porn is. Google lets you search by pixels (or ratios) for images, or you could just crop an image yourself. It would literally take you about a minute longer to do it.
I'm sorry that my comment on this enraged you to the point that it obviously did, but if you're going to post work like this it's only fair if other people can question it.
Go ahead and find me a couple then. Check movieposterdb.com while you're at it; that's where I grab most of my images. Please make sure that they actually contain the title of the movie in it as well. And make sure they've got open space for the menu text.
There's more artistic consideration to this than some concern of aspect ratios, which lies at the bottom of my priorities. I can do a search for movie wallpaper if I want widescreen, but then you've got something that either lacks the movie's title in it, forcing me to try to find a text I think looks good, or it's got all this other promotional crap like release dates and production credits on it. The Dark Knight I remember was kind of a troubling one, because I went with a high quality widescreen image, but then had to try to match the Batman text and failed at it, leading to a product I wasn't fully satisfied with. Sometimes I get lucky and find a good, widescreen poster that isn't too cluttered, has the movie title on it in a good position (not out in the middle of the frame), and looks good. Aeon Flux, Beowulf, and 300 to name a few.
I'm not getting enraged. If I were getting enraged, there would be a lot more swearing and something on the level of a Doctor Who style flipout. I'm defending my work.
