'Best' actor in Troll 2
« on: February 10, 2007, 06:49:05 PM »
I know that everyone in Troll 2 is the most atrocious actor ever, but I was thinking of who was the best of the worst.

I'll say the granddad was almost-kinda-if-you-squint-not-exactly-completely-horrible.

You know, I was having this exact same coversation with a friend of mine.  I think there are two non-painful actors in the movie: The kid and the guy behind the counter at the store.  The kid carries most of the movie, and is at least able to handle basic emotions (unlike the mother and daughter).  The behind the counter is just flat out creepy.  It might just be his real-life character, however.

The kid Joshua without a doubt was the best.  Even though he was the youngest he was the only one to convey anything close to realistic emotion.  Maybe it was because being around that crew really was shattering his world view.

Well, the sister and the father stood out as being the most unclear of how acting worked, and the witch seemed to be focussed on doing as much acting per screen second as possible, but the horrid actors got further apart after that. The boy was probably roughly as good an actor as any nine year old boy stuck into a terrible movie would be; he wasn't noticably awful, but he did suck fairly often. So, of the family I'd say Grandpa Seth.

Overall, I'd say the sheriff. I could see him being in a real movie, if he didn't resemble my grandmother.

Haha, almost every word in the thread title would be more appropriate within quotes.

Haha. You could make a pretty strong case that nobody was really 'in' this movie, they just stood in front of the camera and said things.

Probably Larry David as one of the goblins.

Second.  I even remember Lowtax commenting that either they drugged him for the 'house' scene or he was doing the most convincing acting of the whole movie.

I was going to go with the townsfolk. Their glares, their reactions, it all fit very well actually.

That one guy who was like...the town leader dude....who was casting that "spell" or whatever. He seemed kinda cool when he was doing that.

I am going to be the typical male and say the lady in black when she somehow and for some unexplainable reason became all hot and sexy(For a short time) then of course she wasn't hot anymore when she aged back to 985 years old like she was near the very beginning of the movie.
