Don't know much about the show/comic book, but I'll take any opportunity to put a chainsaw back in Bale's hands, especially if it's for the entirety of a feature length film

Yeah, he's the head writer on Supernatural now.  I hear it really picked up when he got involved.  He also wrote some great Angel episodes in the last two seasons.

I was trying to think who should be Arthur.  For a while I was thinking Andy Richter, but he might be a little too... cherubic?  But I think that Patton can play the straight man who is frustrated by a mentally unbalanced giant with a heart of gold.  Plus he's an out of shape fanboy, which makes him great as the pathetic accountant who dreams of being a super-hero, but finding that in many ways the heroes are just as pathetic as regular folk.

How about Smilin' Stan Lee as the Terror. He's got the old-guy thing going on, the ties to comic book history for in-jokes, and the energy to pull it off.

Stan Lee is an interesting choice.  I'd be interested to see what he would do with that.  Not exactly an actor, but could be fun for a reveal.

As for Paul the Samurai, I was originally thinking Ken Leong (the naked gangster from the Hangover and the doctor from Knocked Up), but then I though Japanese actor and comedian Beat Takeshi (the sadistic teacher from Battle Royale) could have some fun  playing a goofy Samurai by, much like Leslie Nelson, taking his very silly behavior and decisions and playing them straight (though he is a comedian, he's also well known for playing straight roles).

I hadn't thought of Bruce, but he would definitely give the character the smarminess that makes the character so charming.

If you haven't heard of Tig Notaro, she's a very funny comedian who makes appearences on Comedy Death Ray and is just funny.  I also think she could look like Dot and could play the straight role well to the Tick and I could see her as Patton's sister.
