Yeah, this is everywhere these days. Of interest is the story on how it came to be: http://www.bohemian.com/citysound/?p=7181

Reading that article, I kinda feel bad for the girl now. She's getting such a negative image for some (expensive but) pointless, harmless, not-so-serious fun. Fun fun fun fun. Fun fun. Having a ball tonight.

Of course, if she turns this around to launch a "career" and make a quick buck, I'll have a hard time garnering any sympathy for her.

Well, she thanked Mike, if that makes you feel any better.

Finally getting around to sharing this one here. I collaborated with amazing young pianist Alissa Musto for this. It seems to be my most popular non-literal YouTube video, and I hope you like it too.

FRIDAY: The MEAT LOAF version....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmbtua21uzM

Be sure to read the (many!) comments from people remember when they heard Meat Loaf sing this back in the late '70's, early '80's, and even WWII. ::) ;D

Bravo.

Seriously, it reminds me of Alanis Morrisette's cover of "My Humps." It turns it into an almost completely different song.

Sounds about right, I thought it was kind of like those poetry collections where you are asked to pay money because they've published your poem.
I think it's more like those booths where you can buy a VHS tape of you and your friends miming to Loverboy in front of a green screen while wearing large sunglasses and playing inflatable saxophones. ;D

And because people said that a literal video couldn't be done...I did it.

FRIDAY: The REAL Literal Video Version

So, yeah, there's that.

You may notice a reference to this, so here's a plug for that, too:

And it's no longer Friday.

Quote
“This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black. Sorry about that.” Those horrifying words are now what greets anyone seeking out the official music video of Rebecca Black’s generational pop anthem, “Friday,” on YouTube. For a brief moment earlier this week, the clip was available only as a $2.99 YouTube rental, and now, after over 167 million views, it’s gone. Why? It’s unclear, although it could have something to do with finding a way to turn the song’s outrageous popularity into outrageous sums of money. Or it could just be a glitch in the Matrix, and the song will be back on YouTube in the morning to haunt our dreams. Tomorrow is Friday, after all.

What say you, Music Mixers? Good riddance? Or is the world somehow a sadder place without all the fun fun fun fun?

Our long national nightmare is over!

I don't really care one way or another, just pointing it out.

It's back up! And yes, they're trying to make money off of it now because the new "Director's Cut" video is on Rebecca Black's new Vevo channel (which makes me feel bad for posting the video here).

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/2GWdwnNRk34?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US&quot;" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/2GWdwnNRk34?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US&quot;</a>

Now the question is, will the video get over 100,000,000 views again?

Who would blame her for trying to make some money from her 15 minutes?

Totally!

I love how the "band" is playing air guitar and bass when it's quite clear there wasn't a guitar or bass within ten miles of this piece of shit recording.

Well, that one was actually bearable. Certainly no worse (or better) than anything Disney has spawned in the last ten years.
