Day 1 is complete and just in time as we had a thunderstorm form right over us after the crew of 4 finished for the day
They got 3/4ths of my Mega Shed vinyl sided and they should finish it tomorrow (weather permitting)..
Really liking this Steel Blue color with white trim combo

Day 2 and the vinyl siding is complete
Had a bit of a scare after they finished as the main worker had an anxiety attack complicated by heat exhaustion.. Had to call an ambulance to check him out and after 15 minutes he was fine and didn't have to go to the hospital. I think he was pushing himself to complete the job before the thunderstorms reached my local but never arrived. Just a lot of thunder surrounding my locale but no rain.
I plan on bringing him back to fix the cobbled up vinyl siding that the shady contractor I hired last year to do my window replacement and insulation hacked up as well as repair my storage shed that got hit back in May from that giant oak tree branch.

Next projects coming up:
Replacing the vinyl siding on the driveway side of my house the contractors hacked up last year when they installed my windows and insulation, and repairing the roof on my storage shed that was hit by that large oak tree branch back in May. They will do this tomorrow (Wednesday).
I'm also going to have them build a carport 24ft wide by 12ft deep by 8ft tall dropping down to 6ft for rain run off for storing stuff that won't fit in my shed.

My attempts to get grass to grow where I had my tree stump removed failed. So had some more dirt and a pallet of sod delivered. Now just have to be diligent with watering as no significant rainfall in last couple of weeks and none in the forecast for the next couple.

Next up: building a carport and that'll probably be it for a while as my savings is rapidly being depleted

This one will cost around $3500.
It will be 24' wide by 12' deep by 8' high dropping down to 6.5 ' for rain runoff.
We'll be using 6- 6x6 posts anchored to the concrete, 2x10 support girders, 12 sheets of 4x8 treated plywood, several bundles of Roof shingles, along with other 4x4 and 2x6 support braces. This will be heavy duty.

6- 4x4x8'
2- 2x10x16'
10- 2x10x14'
6- 6x6x8'
14- 2x6x14'
12- 4'x8' 1/2" plywood
26- hangers for 2x6 joists
12- 8" lag bolts
6- 6x6 metal bases
24- 1/2" anchor bolts
48- 4 1/2" galvanized screws

The roofing material will be supplied by them.
Could be done around the week of Labor day.

Bought the needed supplies and WOW has lumber skyrocketed in price!!
There's no 2x6x14" and no 2x10x14' boards at all. They come in 16 foot lengths only so instead of wasting that much wood cutting them down to 14 foot boards, I'm expanding the depth of the carport from 12 feet to 14 feet so that added 3 more sheets of treated plywood. Also the 6x6 bases I needed to anchor the posts to the concrete would not be available at Home Depot until the time construction begins so I got them on Amazon. They were $20 each at Home Depot and they were $28 each on Amazon but they'll be here on Aug. 31.
Total for materials was just under $2000.00 and labor will be $2860.00 (which includes the roofing material and installation by another crew) so yeah I'll need to rebuild my savings after this project..
The lumber is scheduled for delivery next Wednesday Sept. 2 and construction is set to begin on Labor Day or the day after and should be completed in 1 day or a day and a half

Talked to my contractor last night that will be building my carport and he wants to start Saturday and have it finished on Labor Day Monday.
I'm all for that!!
