Can't Stop the Music

1.) Essentially, it's the Village People biopic.
2.) The opening credits sequence: Steve Guttenberg on roller skates
3.) It was directed by Nancy "Rosie the Bounty Lady" Walker
4.) The romantic leads are Bruce "Wheaties" Jenner and Valerie "Ms Tessmacher" Perrine.
5.) June Havoc stuck in full-on vaudeville mode. Sad, really.
6.) Was originally titled Discoland, but was retitled after America came to the stunning realization that disco sucks.
7.) Nope. There is no gay subtext in the musical numbers like "YMCA" and "Do the Milkshake". Nothing at all. See? There's David Hodo dancing with a bunch of women. He's straight, I tells ya. Straight as an arrow.
8.) I have an idea. Let's film the finale in static long shots as the Village People march back and forth across the stage. Then, continuity be damned, let's insert a closeup of Felipe "the Indian" Rose's thrusting pelvis.
9.) Because, dammit, nobody can stop the music.

Minus: It would be really hard to riff the whole thing and not go overboard on the gay jokes.

I'd love a riff of something like this.  Maybe they could do it on a double-bill with Xanadu?

Should've been titled "The Day The Music Died"...

Or go for the full trifecta and throw in The Apple.

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band as well, but I imagine that one would be very tricky to pull off.
