Anybody up for some relatively old school competition?

Anybody up for some high score/best time competitions? If enough people are interested, I'm thinking a different game every week or month. It'd be on the honor system. I wouldn't require you to take a picture with the TV or anything (unless that sounds reasonable). I was thinking of using games from NES and SNES, but that may not be possible depending on what you all own. Anyway, does that sound fun to anybody else?

There are emulators, which can be used to cheat very easily, but if we all trust each other, that's fine with me.

No I didn't mean "level the playing field" in the sense of cheating I meant as a solution to this:

Yeah, I know. I was just saying that if we allow the use of emulators, we could use games from any system, but cheating would be very easy. I personally think it'd be fine, though.

I might be up for using emulators. Though honestly I've never really liked score based games, so it's really depend on what the game is.

I'd like to do a speedrun of Donkey Kong Country at some point, so it won't all be score-based.

Alright. I'm really busy with various projects, so I'm setting the end of this contest at the end of the year.

The contest is a speedrun to the end of Donkey Kong Country. You don't need to get everything; just beat K Rool. After you beat the game, the time on your save file is the time you post.

RULES
You can attempt the run as many times as you want.
You may use an emulator, but no funny business.
No codes
If you get Game Over, you have to start over. No re-starting from Candy's. No resetting to revert to Candy's either.
You may use any and all shortcuts you know about
