I haven't seen it yet, but I have a friend who really likes it.  A movie sequel to season 1 comes out early next year and a second season is official.

Another show on Amazon Prime to check out is Vinland Saga.  It's a historical action adventure about vikings.  I'm given to understand while the manga starts with the main character as a bad ass, then reveals his tragic backstory, which is the right move I think, as it makes it a much more human show, despite the fact that the characters are inhumanly powerful and largely jerks.

Ghost Stories, but only the English dub.

The show bombed hard in Japan, despite having a stellar cast and crew behind it. So Studio Pierro licensed it to ADV and told them "we don't care how you use this footage, as long as it makes money." ADV pretty much threw out the original script and made up their own. Much of it is even improvised, and it is bat-shit insane. If you've ever seen any of Team 4 Star's "abridged" anime, it's like that but official sanctioned by the creators.

There are two very good and very different series I want to recommend this season.  The choice (if you have to make one) is yours: fun, sweet story of girls becoming an animation team at their school or ultra-violent nightmarish action about people killing sorcerors in an urban hellscape.

Both are actually really funny.

Keep Your Hands of the Eizoken is by one of my favourite directors Masaaki Yuasa.  This one is about a school's "film club" (really an animation club) as they put their nose to the grindstone and start the arduous task of becoming animators.  The show often transitions into amazing dream sequences as the characters figure out the nuts and bolts of their work but I actually prefer the smaller stuff and watching them break their backs and get creative to finish their work on time.  I also like the chemistry between the girls.  The one who is concerned with the financial and practical aspects might seem to be the killjoy and she does inspire fear but in fact she's the real stand out character of this series, using her wits to solve problems and also trusting her friends to do the same.  Its great.

On the other end of the spectrum is Dorohedoro.  Well, not entirely because it is also visually imaginitive and has a great sense of humour.  But it is also insanely violent and dark.  But in a funny way.  The premise is that a grimy urban world known as Hole is basically a testing ground/toilet for sorcerors from another world, testing new spells that murder and mutate Hole's citizens.  Two people have dedicated themselves to killing sorcerors: a dumpling restaurant owner and, more strangely, a man with a lizard head who has another person living in his mouth.  The lizard dude has amnesia and knows he used to be human but wants to cure himself and figure out what happened... and who is living in his mouth.  Is it him in his human form?  The sorceror who cursed him?  Or some third thing?  Its an incredibly quirky series that's not for the easily grossed out.  But also it seems to so far have no sexual assualt, which puts it heads above far too many shows I watched last season.  Ugh.  Anyway, its very odd but also very good.  And it too has a Hell of an intro.
