I learned Hades can't do any Kraken unleashing without the express written consent of the commissioner, AKA Zeus.

And he has to "clear the room" before bellowing the order....

I learned that Perseus had one accent as a child, and a completely different accent as an adult. And as far as I could tell, neither of which sounded like either of his parents.

I also learned that Bubo (aka the mechanical owl) was my favorite character in the original, and it just isn't Clash of the Titans without him. Granted, I was a big fan of that movie as a child, so this may be nostalgia talking. I really need to get a hold of a copy of that movie and watch it again.

If nothing else though I can safely say the music in the original, was much more memorable. I can remember music from the original even today, having not seen it in at least 15 years. But I saw the remake for the fourth time today and I can't recall a single bar.

Edit:

Speaking of the Stygian Witches, as I just was in another topic; I learned they're all knowing and/or all seeing, yet they don't have enough sense to not throw their only source of vision (real or supernatural) to one of their sisters who happens to be within one foot of the resident demigod, for no apparent reason.

I learned that Bubo is my favorite character in Clash of the Titans, no matter which incarnation.

I learned that the filthy innards of Charon's ferry through the underworld is a very romantic place. Throughout that entire scene I was thinking to myself "Please don't do it in the corpse boat. Please don't do it in the corpse boat. Please don't do it in the corpse boat." Seriously.

Everybody in Ancient Greece had the same facial hair. I couldn't tell Zeus from the king of Argos from half the soldiers that accompanied Perseus from the creepy cult-leader guy from Hades. They all looked like skinny white guys with Amish beards to me.

The men in Ancient Greece wore shorter skirts than the women.

You can have a completely forgettable cast, unremarkable music, an incoherent plot, and crappy special effects in your movie and still have it make a zillion dollars as long as it's in 3D.

You can watch it when you get home from Rifftrax Live! It's on BBCAmerica at 11:30pm Thursday (and 9pm, if you want to record it).

And fuzzy, after market 3D to boot....

I learned that Hades promise to not destroy Argos if they sacrificed Andromeda was a matter of opinion....

The Kraken is knocking down half the city as it comes out of the water and approaches her....but since it's not doing it on purpose it doesn't really count?

And it you want to go really cheap....   :D

(edit: I found one that has the proper ratio)

Damn....now I've got that music running through my head.   ;)

I learned that this was a really odd movie to have a Schindler's List reunion.

I learned that apparently paying the ferryman of the souls gets you a round-trip ticket since our hero got back out of the underworld with no problem.

I learned that expensive CGI can be eminently forgettable (remember that Kraken from the old version? Cool, right? So, can you even describe how many limbs the new version had?) and makes plotholes even more glaring (what exactly were they feeding their giant riding scorpions? What, for that matter, do those humungous beasts eat when they live out in the desert beneath ancient pre-Greek ruins?).

Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad - they also zap them with huge fricking lightning bolts that cause their brains to explode out of their skulls, grow their left arms really big and muscular and cause the urgent desire to change their name.

I wondered that, too. Maybe he threatened the ferryman with the madusa head. That would have been an interesting scene.

To be fair, they skipped that in the first one as well.  Maybe in this new one Perseus grabbed one of the coins off the floor during his "fight" with Io for the ride back.

(in the actual myth, it wasn't a problem since Pegasus sprang from Medusa's blood when Perseus beheaded her...he was riding the horse with Medusa's head held on his shield when he noticed Andromeda for the first time, chained to the sacrificial rock...)

(what exactly were they feeding their giant riding scorpions? What, for that matter, are do those humungous beasts eat when they live out in the desert beneath ancient pre-Greek ruins?)

Well, since they sprang from the blood of Calibos in this version, those issues didn't exist before then.

Didn't Pegasus show up at the conclusion of that scene?

Yeah, I think so.  Wow...that movie really holds one's attention...not.   ;)
