Anybody a fan? Murder on the Orient Express is awesome. But I also like The Big Four and Elephants Can Remember.
Aaahh! This movie just throws you violently into the next scene!

While I never read the books, I have always loved the pbs show when they had it. Not the movie Poirot but the tv show guy. I can't remember his name but a superb actor. Defenitly my favorite detective. Besides the CSI people ;) Las Vegas that is since I don't really care for the others.

I've never read any of Agatha Christie's works but was a huge fan of Poirot during the David Suchet years.

I certainly enjoyed the tv episodes I saw, but I never saw many of them.

Albert Finney was outstanding in the Murder on the Orient Express.

Screw poirot its all about jeremy brett as sherlock holmes.  AMAZING how he captured the role.

poor guy suffered from bi polar, just like holmes really.

How dare you insult the great Hercule Poirot! Holmes is nothing compared to the wonderful Poirot.

Agatha is an awesome mystery author, and Poirot is one of the best detectives - he's like a Belgian version of Shaloub's(?) Monk character =)

Poirot saved the entire world in The Big Four. Has Sherlock or Mycroft Holmes ever saved the world? Probably not. I have not seen Jeremy Brett's performance but I'm sure you're correct in the assesment of him being a bad ass.

oh yeah he totally nails the role.  from the bi polar, to the dry sarcasm, to the thrill of the hunt.  He is really good, and very very much like the books.  My family is addicted to stuff like that.  My parents have every poirot and every sherlock on both DVD and on VHS all store bought.  I think he has saved the world once or twice depending on how you mean it.  how did poirot save the world in the big four?

I don't really have a list for my favorite literary detectives yet, but I know that among the top are:

C. Auguste Dupin (Can't beat the first of his kind...)
Hercule Poirot (cowards make great detectives sometimes)
Miss Marple (cuz she's got spunk even though she's like, 98 years old)
Sherlock Holmes (gotta love the guy, arrogant as he is)

I consider Murder On The Orient Express and And Then There Was None two of the best mysteries ever written.

Both Agatha, no? Murder on the Orient Express only ticked me off a little because ALL of the suspects did it - which seemed a little too..... I dunno, cheap? Fun read though!

I couldn't even tell you my favorite Agatha Christie, they're all really good. Though of the top contenders is "Death on the Nile," "The Witness for the Prosecution" (also a killer movie), and "The Miror Crack'd"
