Why is there a fake search bar?

I see a search bar, but every time I serch this, it brings me to the homepage. And I get a message a few seconds later saying "Note: These results may no be 100% correct." No duh. Is this some kind of a joke that went too far?

I just tried it and it worked fine for me. I even tried searching for something I knew wouldn't come up and just got an empty field like I should.

What browser are you using?

Firstly, let's make sure you two are talking about the same search bar. This is the one on the main site, and not here in the forum, correct? Because that's what happens to me as well. I figured it was just one of the many things that haven't gotten fixed yet. I use Chrome, by the way.

I'm using Chrome and the search on both the main site and the forum are working perfectly.  Hmm.

I think the iRiffs search one is still jacked up.  But I haven't checked in awhile.
