XBOX 360 wireless Live connection alternatives?

Hey peeps, I want to know if anyone has any alternatives to the $100 XB live adapter to connect their xboxes wirelessly.  Any suggestions?

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I don't think the console will connect with anything other than the official Microsoft Adapter.  Even if there were a third party option, I'd be constantly worried that Microsoft would put a in a patch that cancels it out.

Yeah, as far as I know, the adapter is the only way to go. You can get it for only 50 from Amazon dealers, though. $70 if you insist from buying directly from Amazon.

Well, you could get two of those outlet plugs that plug into the wall outlet.   Connect your modem in your office to the wall outlet.   Then connect the second one near your Xbox, plug in a network cable between that and the X-box and it should work.

Costs would be a BIT less and, in theory, a stronger connection.

Well, a $10 CAT5 cable works. You just lose the whole wireless thing.

If you can find the original xbox wireless receivers for the original xbox's those work with 360's.

I have seen them used for around $50 to $75 on Amazon or Ebay but I have never seen a third party one,sorry.

You could go with a wireless Ethernet adapter like this one:

Basically, you plug an Ethernet cable between the Xbox and the adapter, and the adapter talks to your wireless router on its behalf.
