The reason Lion-O was heir was he was blood. Tygra was the adopted older brother. He is not of the bloodline. The two were raised as brothers.
Did I miss that? When did that get explained?

it was said by Tigra when Lion-O is getting Sword training. He says that the leadership follows the blood line. Hence he is not blood related. He is just a step brother.

I don't know, doesn't sound all that conclusive.

Thought the kids were pretty bad as Wily-Kit and Wily-Kat.  The rest was pretty interesting, and I liked the Mum-rah cocktease near the end there.  It's already a million times better than the original series.

My bad it was in the scene at the dinner table. The guy with one tooth tells Tygra that he would have made a great king, "But such honors are reserved for the bloodline."

So yeah his is an adopted son. Not part of the blood line.

I actually really dig the new Kit and Kat.  They look and sound more like real kids. They are street thieves. They seek money to buy a treasure map to become rich. Sounds like a little kid wild fantasy.

In the old series they sounded like an adult imitating a kid, not like an actual kid.

Also did you notice the two classes of Cats? Lion-O and the upper elites have no tail. All/Most of the cats in the slum sections have tails..

As a former hardcore Thundercats fan (I'm a casual Thundercats fan these days), I have to say that this show hit the nail on the head. It's what the original Thundercats should have been. There were a lot of non sequitur elements in the original show that were either removed or altered. The most annoying thing of all was Snarf and I love his new (mostly mute) incarnation. The animation was gorgeous too. No complaints there. Can't wait until we get more episodes, and here's hoping it does well. Maybe a Silverhawks reboot won't be far behind (fingers crossed).

My favorite thing? No real updates to Mumm-Ra's (pre-enhanced, at least) design because it didn't -have- to be updated. He always had a kickin' look. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. I love that the art/design team recognized this.

Friday's episode was pretty good, too - especially the score. Holy crap, the music was awesome. The sand sea was also an awesome visual. And Wilykit and Wilykat went from possibly annoying for me to pretty damn likeable. Also nice to hear Will Friedle channeling a bit of "angry Terry" from Batman Beyond this week, too.
