When you're in your early teens, who wants to see a sit-com about randy old ladies?

I wouldn't develop THAT fetish until much later.

And so was born "Keeping Up Appearances."   ;D

But on a more serious note, she did in fact have better material in later years...if you saw Starship Troopers, she had a bit part as the blind teacher at the very beginning before they ship off to boot camp.  And as we all know, having a bit part in a film where Jake Busey plays a clear violin instead of playing metal football is far superior than singing in the Star Wars Holiday Special.  Or, being associated in any way with the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck:
RIP, Blanche.

BTW, she was in a (gay themed but not heavy handed) TV series that used to air on the Logo Channel called "Sordid Lives".

Another funny show if you get the chance....

Also hilarious just for the white-trashy, boozy and Valum-popping Texas women who make up most of the characters....

So, the discussion of this sad death was locked in the TV thread in favor of a section I never go to. Just huh

But, who cares about that. This is indeed a sad day. I never beleived in this "death in 3s" BS until now....

Wait, who died before Dennis Hopper?
