But I think my favorite Joel episode is "Sidehackers" or "Skydivers".

Joel didn't do Skydivers. That was the first of the classic Coleman Francis films painfully served to Mike.

...leave the bronx,
leave the bronx,
leave the bronx,
leave the bronx,
leave the bronx,
 LEAVE THE BRONX,
 LEAVE THE BRONX

so we should leave the Bronx?
Grapes? I hate grapes, I can't stand grapes. I loathe grapes. All kinds of grapes. I hate green grapes and I hate purple grapes. I hate grapes with seeds, I hate grapes without seeds. I hate them peeled and nonpeeled. I hate them in bunches, one at a time and in small groups of twos and threes.

I just watched The Giant Spider Invasion for the first time.  It's now one of my favorites:

Classic.

Being asked to pick my favorite episode is like asking a parent which of one their kids they like the most. I don't have any kids so I'll say,
Joel - Mitchell
Mike - Werewolf, it was a photo finish with runner's up Touch of Satan, Space Mutiny & Final Sacrifice.
I think the show really hit it's stride after season 7.

VERY classic-- agreed.  It's one of my favorites, too.  I love the scene when the doughey scientist guy falls down the hill with the ashtray-voiced scientist lady and he rolls all over her on the way down, legs flailing all akimbo... man, I am laughing just writing about it.

When that happened, Mike and the 'bots didn't have to say anything, they just laughed.  Those are some of the best moments throughout the show, (and Rifftrax) when they know that the audience is already laughing so they don't even have to have a riff ready.  They just chuckle along with you and it makes it all the more hilarious.  Or, Kevin Murphy's well placed, "...what the hell...?" will just slay you.

It's a subtle art, this riffing...

My favorite is "Werewolf" . . . and believe it or not, I've never seen the first half-hour, because I missed it when taping the episode and it never aired again. Before you ask, I haven't downloaded it because I don't know how or where to do so. (You kids with your sodium and your downloading and your high-tech gizmos . . . ) But I've always wanted to see it!

Second favorite is "Time Chasers" . . . and I've misplaced the tape.

Dude!  YouTube has a good quality "Werewolf" in it's entirety, (although in 10 minute chunks), and "Time Chasers" and many more.  It's a very easy option if you just want to see them and not DL them or anything.  YouTube is easy to use and non-invasive to your system.

And, of course, "TIme Chasers" is also available to own from Rhino DVD.  Don't know if it's sold seperately but it is packaged in the MST3K DVD boxed set, Volume 5.

I didn't know it was on YouTube! Thanks!  :)

As for the box set, I believe it's one that has some of the very few episodes I don't like ("Boggy Creek," "Touch of Satan") in it. Maybe I'll look on eBay and see if it's possible to buy just the one DVD.

Again, thank you!

Joel - Cave Dwellers. First episode I saw before I knew what MST3K was. It was on MTV one day and loved it. I told my friends in high school and they thought I was gone. Luckily I moved not to soon after that to a city that had CC and was able to enjoyed ever since.

Mike - Space Mutiny, hands down. I was laughing for a good half hour straight during and after the first blinding chase sequence on the floor waxers.

3 Honorable Mentions - Werewolf, Skydivers, Laserblast (Sheetcake and Back Fat)...GLORIOUS!

I'd have to say "Horror at Party Beach" is my favorite Mike episode, while "Mitchell" tops the Joel charts.

And every Short kills me.
