I've got my trusty PS3, my trusty NES (with Bionic Commando, Mario 3, and all the Mega Man games), my trusty Super NES (with the 3 super Star Wars games, and a Zelda game), and 2 not as trusty anymore Intellivisions with dozons of games that may still work for all I know.  I guess my PC could also be considered a system, since I sometimes play games on it.

I don't really keep consoles after the generation is over, but I do keep the games.  I have all 3 of the current systems, though.

What is the point of keeping games you can't play? :D

Money.  :)

Besides, with emulation the way it is now, I don't need those systems to play the games.

I like playing older games on a big screen with the controller they were built for.

Can still play on a big screen, and I find that joypads are much more comfortable now than they ever were.

Let's see...

Somewhere in my storage area, I have a 2600 and an Intellivision. I think my Genesis is out there too. No idea how many titles are there with them.

I've got a DS, and generally sell the prior generation hardware before I buy a new one. I'm on my third PSP, which I kept selling for money. And in the immediate vicinity, I've got a Dreamcast, a PS1, PS2, PS3, 360, and Dust-collecting Gamecube. I've had a Wii and several Xboxes, but they all were sold at some point.

But frankly, my main video game machine since the mid 80s has been my PC. I've got titles I played on the PC jr still in my possession. That's a platform with 25 years of continuous gaming behind it.

I'm typing on it.   ;)

Seriously, I had an Atari 2600 and all the games except the really lame ones (although I did get suckered into buying ET) but then I was introduced to PC games...

Plus the whole mess of a new system being introduced constantly - at least four out at a time, nothing interchangeable - and I thought, "It's always going to be like this...Beta vs VHS over and over again".

I think there's been one whole game I've wanted - "Destroy All Humans" - that you can't get a version for PC.

Oh, crap, I counted my PS2 games and realized I should NOT be answering this question...

I still own the system (and games et al) I ever bought (with truly minor exceptions) for all the following:
Commodore 64 (the first, and it still works, though intermittently)
Commodore Amiga (3 iterations, all still work, though the 2000's operating system is on the fritz)
NES
Gameboy (the original behemoth plus the Color and original Advance)
Super NES
Playstation
PS2
PS3
PSP
PC

And as for counting...I have 73 PS2 games.  That is probably the largest of all my various consoles, though just by looking at my PS games, not by much.  As for PC games?  I don't even want to count.  If you want an idea of how far back that goes, I've got Impossible Mission 2, Double Dragon 3, Dune, Jordan vs. Byrd 1 on 1, and Day of the Tentacle (in the original triangle box) all sitting next to each other on the shelf.

As for nostalgia, though, it's a toss-up between the Commodore systems.  I have very fond memories of Master of Magic, Feud, and Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders for the 64, but also of Shadow of the Beast I and II, Sword of Sodan, Monkey Island, and Nightbreed on the Amiga.

What?  I said NOSTALGIA.  I didn't say they had to be GOOD.   ;D

One of the very few games I've sold and missed, though, was The Mafat Conspiracy for NES.  I never beat that one: I was all the way to escaping the final base when I ran out of continues, and didn't have the heart to start it over from the beginning again.

EDIT: Oops!  I forgot about the Wii.  I keep forgetting that one because I didn't buy it personally and I really don't have games for it (just Wii Fit), but I suppose it counts.

I collect game systems, so let's see how many I can remember off the top of my head:

Atari:  2600, 5200, 7800, and Jaguar

Sega:  SMS, Genesis, CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, Nomad, Gamegear

Nintendo:  NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, GB Advance SP, Virtual Boy, DS Lite

Playstation:  PS, PS2, PS3, PSP

Microsoft:  Xbox, Xbox 360

Orphens:  Colecovision, Intellivision, Odessey 2, Microvision, Vetrex, TI 994a, Turbographx

I think that's all of them.  I have multiples and varients, everybody has at least one game, they all work, and they all get played from time to time.

Edit because I forgot the 3DO
