My Kitchenaid is forest green, and it doesn't match our style anymore  :'(

I'd like to get a new one in gun metal gray or copper.

All my Kitchenaid things are black.

There's a local company so I like buying their stuff (even if a bunch of it isn't made locally).

My heart is really going to explode one of these days. Rarely do I wax rhapsodic about vegetables (although I do love lima beans, broccoli and collard greens).

You're the second person I've -ever- heard of who likes lima beans.  I always leave them behind in those "mixed vegetables" things and just toss them at the end.

I love lima beans, especially prepared with a pork product. (So did my grandfather, but he was Scottish, so his taste in food is questionable.)

I have that very same toaster.
You see Wurwolf?  Imrahil doesn't hate everything.  He just hates everything except my toaster.

I actually love red appliances. Our kitchen has a red accent wall and so we buy red stuff to go in it. :)

We have the above Oster toaster, Oster blender, Mr Coffee autodrip, and Emerson microwave all in that same red color. (You can probably guess what store they all came from. ;)) Just about everything in our kitchen is red that we could find in red - dishrack, dishes, silverware, towels, seat cushions, etc... Pretty snazzy.

I love slow cooker beef, and good sausages, and anything with kielbasa in it.  I love my homemade italian-style white pizzas, and I like grilling out bratwurst and chicken.

But still not BBQ?  In my opinion, proper slow cooked meats are similar to BBQ.  And if they're done right, you don't need any vinegar or sweet sauces to go on them.

How do you like Cuban roast pork?  It's got to be one of my favorite things.  Add some rice, black beans, and fried plantains, and you're in heaven.

Not sure I've had it, but it sounds pretty good.  I quite like Hawaiian Kalua pork.

I'm convinced!  We just have to find you the right kind of pulled pork, and we'll make you a fan of BBQ.

avocado aioli

I'm a big fan of avocados, so this avocado aioli intrigues me. Do you have a specific recipe? I know I could just Google it, but how do you make it?

You see Wurwolf?  Imrahil doesn't hate everything.  He just hates everything except my toaster.

I stand amazed! You found something that Imrahil doesn't hate!

Oh, I also love driving the speed limit.  :D

Foodwise, I'm quite fond of:

Cheesecake
Mexican Food
Indian Food
Caribbean Food (what little I've had of it)
Greek food (I adore tzatziki)
Iced Creams
Pies (of both the 'fruit' and 'meat' varieties--no thank you to Pumpkin or Pecan, however)

My favorite ever vegetable has to be zucchini. God I love it.  It's about the only thing I want to plant and garden myself, because there are so many delicious varietals that the grocery store doesn't stock.
I also like kohlrabi and (raw) cabbage, and broccoli and cauliflower.  I enjoy the seedpods and flesh of the brassica familiy, just not the leaves so much.

I love slow cooker beef, and good sausages, and anything with kielbasa in it.  I love my homemade italian-style white pizzas, and I like grilling out bratwurst and chicken.

I love most kinds of cheese, and really fresh, home-made breads.  I love a good, crispy apple, preferably a tart one.  I love fresh-brewed iced tea with lemon and just a hint of sugar, or one that's without sugar but adds mint; I love cherry lime-ade, and sparkling water with just a splash of juice in it.

I love a good beer (hoppy, not too overtly malty--or a nice weissbier or kolsch in the summer, or a chocolate stout or winter warmer on a cold december night).  I like cheap champagne and fruity cocktails.

I like eating at delis (soup and sandwich combos) and love a good burger (5 Guys FTW); I love pubgrub and like trying local specialties.  My favorite part of the menu is usually the appetizers, and I could skip the main course.

How's that for some things I love? :)

Nicely done. Although I will vehemently disagree with you about driving the speed limit, your love of 5 Guys is commendable.  :highfive:

avocado aioli

I'm a big fan of avocados, so this avocado aioli intrigues me. Do you have a specific recipe? I know I could just Google it, but how do you make it?

Our recipe book says:

Quote
In a small bowl slightly mash 2 seeded and peeled ripe medium avocadoes.  Stir in 2/3 c. finely chopped radishes; 2 tbsp mayonnaise or salad dressing; 1 tbsp lemon juice; 1 clove garlic, minced; 2 tsp snipped fresh oregano or 1/2 tsp dried oregano, crushed, and 1/4 tsp salt.  Cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

We didn't have radishes, so we left those out, and I also added about 1/4 tsp cayenne for a bit of kick.  This could be adjusted pretty easily to your taste.

We spread it on kaiser rolls and ate it with the beef sandwiches. It was magnificent.

Cool. Thanks!

I am definitely going to try this.

A bunch of my wife's students are Asian (lots of Korean, some Chinese) and occasionally she gets gifts of weird food.  Recently we tried "red bean caramels."  We both tried one, spat it out, and then dumped the box.  Nasty.
Must've been a K-9 mix :rimshot:

Have you ever had Japanese cocoa bean paste?  It tastes like a tofu substitute but still tasty enough to almost trick you into thinking it could be milk chocolate (but not quite).

Well-done! You scored a 1 out of 1 on the analogies section.

I was always good at those. :)
