Yeah those are good if you brush them with a little honey before putting them in to roast.

Weird thing is, I actually don't like meat all that much, I eat a mostly vegetarian diet.

Except damn near raw, bloody, steak.

Not sure why unless it's that the rest of my diet has given my porphyria or something ;)

I'm with you, Tripe, I love a good rare steak. Top it with a pat of herbed garlic butter and I'm in heaven.

My heart is really going to explode one of these days. Rarely do I wax rhapsodic about vegetables (although I do love lima beans, broccoli and collard greens).

You're the second person I've -ever- heard of who likes lima beans.  I always leave them behind in those "mixed vegetables" things and just toss them at the end.

And I hate field greens (mustard, collard, whatever).  I can eat spinach if it's in something, but not by itself.

I like beans in general, but lima beans are my favorite. My mom and my daughter like them, too. We boil them with salt and finish them off with a pat of butter, which probably negates what little nutritional value they have. I also love just about any kind of field greens.

I subscribe to Cooks Country magazine (and to their website). In a recent issue they had a recipe for lemon green beans and I fell in love with it. I've never been able to stomach green beans before, but that recipe made a believer out of me.

It seems that for some people, if you don't like your steak rare, you are also not a big fan of steak.  I can understand the desire for fully cooked meat, but I also wonder if that also prevents you from having it at its best.  They say that if you don't like seafood, you just haven't had good seafood.  Perhaps that applies to steak too.

When I order meat at a restaurant and they ask how I want it cooked, I'll either say "as rare as is safe" or "however the chef recommends".  I won't shy away from eating raw meat.  I love sushi, and on the rare occasion that I get top quality beef, I'll eat that raw too.

I also hate seafood unless it's deep fried, and even then I won't touch calamari.

The word curmudgeon really springs to mind when I think of you, Im. ;)

Aw, come on. Why is hating seafood a curmudgeon thing?

Oh, Im. And I say this with all affection. You hate everything. :)

I generally say "blue" and it's a mark of how good the restaurant is if the wait staff know what i mean by that.  :)

Sweet! I especially loved the toasters from the 1920s (what is it with me and that time period, anyway?). They're like little bread torture devices.

I love toasters.  I keep one at my desk in case of emergencies:

There's nothing better than a toasted bagel.

You see Wurwolf?  Imrahil doesn't hate everything.  He just hates everything except my toaster.

I stand amazed! You found something that Imrahil doesn't hate!

I have red in my kitchen, too. I have an old red formica-topped kitchen table that I've dragged around everywhere with me since my very first apartment and I buy stuff to match it. We have a red crock pot and a red rice maker. Probably other stuff too but I'm forgetting.
