Dear St. Paul Pioneer Press,

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Quote
It'll be interesting to see whether the Boston Red Sox, who have a $12.5 million option on lefty DH David Ortiz's contract for next season, make a run at Minnesota Twins lefty DH Jim Thome, 40, when Thome becomes a free agent after the season. Ortiz turns 35 in November.

St. Paul Pioneer Press

I really can't see the Sox passing on Ortiz's option especially since I really doubt we will resign Beltre. (And even Victor Martinez is a question mark for next year.)

1st round of playoffs are done in the Head To Head league.

This week's matchups:  The Epic Fails vs. Hazel Mae's Hooters  / Greasy Ol' Stains vs. RAD Racing.

s1 is on vacation & didn't bring her laptop so if I lose this week it truly will be an Epic Fail on my part.

The breakdown on how the Red Sox can still manage to make the playoffs:

If Yankees go 11-5, they clinch a playoff spot, regardless of what the Sox do.
If Yankees go 10-6, Sox must go 16-0 to tie.
If Yankees go 9-7, Sox must go 15-1 to tie.
If Yankees go 8-8, Sox must go 14-2 to tie.
If Yankees go 7-9, Sox must go 13-3 to tie.
If Yankees go 6-10, Sox must go 12-4 to tie.
If Yankees go 5-11, Sox must go 11-5 to tie.
If Yankees go 4-12, Sox must go 10-6 to tie.

"So you're saying I have a chance?"  (Yeah, about a 3% chance.)

Looks like that NL West race is going be exciting down to the wire.   I'm rooting for the Rockies.

And its nice to see the Twins aren't going to have to play a 163rd game this year - magic number is 7!

Don't know if anyone would be interested but I started my own baseball podcast.  We got a cast of 4 inexperience yet passionate fans of the game of baseball.

I posted it in the blogs on thatguywiththeglasses.com and can be found here: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/blogs/latest/entry/full-count-the-baseball-podcast-sept-19-2010
