How did I not know about this? Best name in Minor Leagues.

And I just remembered how we forgot to set up a Razzball League this year. *facepalm*

That is hilarious.

Ah, you bring back fond memories of a 5 foot nothing infielder the Cardinals had a few years ago, "Stubby Clapp".

If Salty beats out Sequoyah Stonecipher I say it's rigged.

Rockies versus da Cubbies. With 2 outs, the Rockies proceed to score 12 runs. *12* The Rockies spent close to 40 minutes batting. It was just  ugly to watch, and I say that as a Rockies fan.

The Dodgers are tanking. I've written off Manny. Either got hot hot after he came off the DL but he's just waving at this point.

Posednick was a decent pickup given the Manny situation, but it just seems as if the boys in blue are not into it...stupid base-running decisions, unproductive outs, endless missed opportunities, Sherrill's collapse, etc.

Not lookin' good. Not lookin' good at all.

And the Padres? Are you kidding me with these guys?!? Third best record in baseball? 19 games over .500?

"Is this real life?"

P.S. How would you like to to be Boston at 13 games over .500 and in third place, 7.5 games back in the division and 6.5 back in the wild-card? Aside from "Baltibore", the AL East is one tough mother!

It's cute that ESPN wants you to pay for "Insider" status to get trade rumors when you can just go to mlbtraderumors.com and get info for free.

6 hours and counting - c'mon Brett Myers or Ted Lilly!

It's Mannywood baby! (I so don't miss Manny. Didn't like him when he was here either.  Hated watching him "play defense" and not run out hits.)  Don't even get me started on the 3 pitch pinch-hit at bat where he didn't even lift the bat off his shoulder against the Yankees because he was upset that he had to play on his "day off".   :grr:

I don't remember the exact numbers but they did the math on WEEI yesterday and even if the Sox play .667 ball for the remainder of the season, the Yankees can play around .500 ball and still beat us. If we don't take 2/3 in every series against the Yanks & Rays (as well as winning against other teams) we're sunk. I think we have 18 games against those teams left.   :speechless:

On the upside I might be going to see Aerosmith & J. Geils Band at Fenway next month!

How the mighty(?) have fallen.  A year ago it would've cost the Sox a package including Clay Buchholz to get Salty.  Now it's a couple prospects & a PTBNL.  Definitely a good gamble by the Sox.

DB, that trade offer was definitely a long shot on my part.  I don't blame you for passing.  But if he was healthy it'd be an intriguing deal.  (2B has been a black hole for me this year with all the injuries in both leagues.)

Wow, the Pirates are bad.    I guess I never think about them until I saw some of the Cardinals series this weekend.   They have had 18 straight losing seasons.  There are kids in college that have never seen the Pirates have a winning season in their lifetime.    That is almost impossible.

My kid hit his first (and 2nd and 3rd) whiffleball over the house yesterday.   :highfive:

He lost his Red Sox hat, so he's wearing his Rockies Rookies hat we got for free at Coors Field when we did the tour.

He's also been practicing "sliding like a baseball guy".

Nice batting form........ already hits better most middle infielders.

But no headfirst slides!   Teach him the Lou Brock pop up slide to maximize his speed.
