I'm an A's fan and Eric Byrnes was my favorite player when he first came up.  Some of those plays he made were some of the most awesome looking plays ever.  One against the Giants one year he dove backwards diagonally fully stretched out to grab the ball out of the air.  There was another one with Zito pitching where he dove behind 3rd base in foul territory and I swear slid about 15 ft to make the catch.  Still two of the most impressive looking plays I've ever seen in baseball.

Too bad he has to be such an annoying douche outside of baseball.  I hope he doesn't become a regular analyst with somebody.  I guess anybody is better than Joe Morgan though.

RIP Ernie  :(

Quote

I'm unsure if anyone in this thread has seen this yet, but it's such a wonderful montage pieced together by MLB. Vin Scully's story at the end is just too cool...

Ernie was such an amazing person.

Just got back from Target Field, Twins beat down the O's rather easily in another well pitched game by Blackburn. Good times.

"It wasn't that perfect of a game." - fake A-Rod quote as he steps on his mound.

That was cool. The Crew/Dback game was in the 8th; I was curious if the MLB Channel were airing the coverage of the perfect game, and I'd be damned! How awesome, indeed, and in consecutive years the Rays have been the on the wrong end of a perfect game. What are the odds of that???

Wiat, i Thought A-Rod was the guy that boned Madonna. Wouldn't that drain him of any talent he possibly has?
