New Moon iRiffs section
« on: March 20, 2010, 03:05:13 AM »
Yes, you probably assumed it had to happen, and if you don't read the iRiffs forum, you probably didn't realize it HAD happened. But it did happening, and is happening right now: NEW MOON as riffed by others. People seemed to really like our TwiRiff (still available HERE: http://www.rifftrax.com/iriffs/ice-mars/ice-mars-twilight), so we swore back in November we would tackle the sequel (don't remember? Check it out)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/YMymx--4QGc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/YMymx--4QGc&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;</a>

Want samples? Samples:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/TOclluOgdMw&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/TOclluOgdMw&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;</a>
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/D7Eah3-tVLE&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/D7Eah3-tVLE&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1&amp;</a>

Now, you might be saying to yourself, 'But, Michael! iRiffs isn't uploadable yet! How the hell can I purchase this bad boy?' Well, the answer is fairly simple: I've talked with QuipTracks and they've agreed to host me. Because I'm anal retentive as well, I've also activated ZenCart on my own web page and you will be able to buy it directly from either of us (if you've already got a QT account, no need to make a second account and go through all the hoo-ha just to get one file off my site). The file is NOW LIVE on my site, and I'll post a link as soon as QT has it available. The goal is to put it up on iRiffs as soon as possible, but obviously we ALL wanted to be involved in a midnight TwiRelease party, so HERE WE ARE.

My site: http://www.holynightmare.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=180

QuipTracks: http://quiptracks.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=15

The poster:

Obviously you should also buy the official Rifftrax version, but give us a shot, too!

Damn, I wish I'd seen this last night.  I just finished my reauthor (it's burning to DVD as I type).

No BIG deal.  The DVD is an RW and I still have all the demultiplexed files.  I just feel apathetic about going through the reauthor process again.

Actually, I think I'll hold off until I get the stinger and have to do another reauthor.  I'll probably end up doing another riff selection screen on the menus.

Purchased it and running it through audacity now.  The copy of the movie I obtain is so small on the disk I can also fit your riffed version along with the Rifftrax one.  Not bad.  What I heard while syncing it sounded good.
And I'm worse than Hitler.

I reauthored and burned the DVD yesterday.  Haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

thanks! Feel free to leave feedback here, on YouTube, on my site or on QT's site (I don't think you need to have purchased the movie to leave feedback). Or on the iRiffs forum. or, hell, on the side of buildings if that's your thing. i'm hoping some feedback will help get more people interested. even if the feedback is just 'i bought this & used a paypal account and had no problems,' that might help some people. : )

I'm REALLY curious to hear feedback on this. It's tough to tell how good something is when you've been this close to it for this long, but we really poured a lot into this sucker.

Just wanted to poke my head in hear and say we'll have a version as well.  I'll likely wait a week or 2 after the iriff section goes back up so it doesn't get buried in the flood of riffs that have been waiting.

I just finished watching Ice on Mars' riff of New Moon, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It was vulgar in places and I liked that, a lot of the jokes made me laugh. I was surprised that some of their jokes were very similar to http://community.livejournal.com/m15m/21825.html#cutid1. The eyeliner crucio line particularly, I thought that was an odd one for two different people to come up with.

How really odd. I checked that cleolinda (i think)'s profile to make sure we don't know her. it'd be odd if we did, she's in Alabama. The crucio/eyeliner line was Kaisha's. I know she frequents some LJ Twi forums, so it's certainly possible she saw this post when it first came up & didn't realize she was referencing it, but I hope not. I'd like to think all our lines were original, or at least stolen from close friends like most writers.

Looking through it more (I'm at work so not really able to do this justice) there's a LOT I notice similaritywise now with many lines Kaisha wrote (some of which were cut so you wouldn't notice them). Also Kaisha is subscribed to that community. So, um. Ahem. Though she SWEARS it was unintentional, that seems bad. I've taken down the riff from our site until I can either remedy this or kill myself. Update coming soon.

Fixed and back up. I've sent the repaired files over to QuipTracks, so not sure how long it'll be before they fix it. Feel free to redownload it for the like 7 new jokes in it!

sorry for the delay in answering.
Raven was adamant that he is/was working on one, but I haven't seen it as of yet.
