So did anyone else pick up this little JRPG gem, or am I the only one? :)

I've spent WAY too many hours playing this instead of sleeping in the past week...

I have it, but I haven't started it yet as I was finishing off Mass Effect 2.

Everybody seems to know what this is except for me, apparently.  Don't know how I missed it, but it's one of those games that somehow became immensely popular and I have no idea where it came from.

It's an RPG from the folks who did DQ VIII and Rogue Galaxy. It was one of the first RPGs announced for the PS3 and just got released in the US. (It's been out for about a year in Japan, where the initial excitement morphed to a "meh" from most folks.)

An update:

Well, I received my copy of the game via Gamefly and then popped it into the Ps3. Started off with a lovely unskippable cut scene about a mopey princess. Not caring about the backstory, I ignored it and did some work on the computer. 5-10 minutes later, when the noise had stopped behind me, I resumed playing.Standard setup. NPC, show the new guy around town to someplace. So, I start wandering. And wandering. And then I check the map to see where I'm supposed to be going. No indication. Quest log? Nothing there either. Any waypoints? Nope. I'm now a half hour into the game and I have no idea of where I'm going or what I'm supposed to be doing. I hit eject and returned it.

Did I give it a fair shake? Probably not, but if your game is so clunky that I need to head to Gamefaqs to figure out how to end the tutorial, well then, something's wrong. I've seen other sites say that its wonderful, but my feeling is that the folks who are grading it poorly are much closer to the mark. I'd avoid it, at least until it's much cheaper.
