I can't wait. I only hate that again they left Season 7 on a pseudo-cliffhanger (we know he won't die) then they next season starts and it is 3 years later or whatever time frame and everything is okey-dokey.  Why even bother having a cliffhanger? Like when they gave President Palmer the stink-hand of death and then nothing really happened with it.

Not a bad start to Day 8.

At least Kim is now accepting of what Jack needs to do and doesn't whine about it.  Hopefully that is the last we see of her for the season. It sucks that Chloe needs to prove herself to everyone at the New CTU. I could always do without all the inter-office relationships that plague CTU. I couldn't have my fiance or wife working at the RECORD STORE I work at yet high level counter terrorism units run by the government seem to let it happen a lot.

Also fire-axe to the chest is awesome!!

It seems that www.bauercount.com is down, hopefully it will be back up soon.

It's getting a little crazy how easily Jack goes rogue and how everybody just sorta shrugs it off. I mean, the guy was trying to STEAL WEAPONRY with the help of an accomplice on the inside... and to get away with it they have to setup the head of CTU to look like a damn idiot who gets blackmailed into letting him go rogue within 40 minutes of the plot even hitting the fan... But I suppose things like this have to be accepted over the last three seasons or however long it's been since Jack has been trying to "get out" and enjoy retirement.

And wow... If I ran windows 95 while surfing nothing but German porn sites my PC would still be more secure than anything at CTU. Chloe hacks things so easily it's like everybody there is an asshole who uses "12345" as the password on their luggage.

Also, the background checks at CTU really, really suck ass. How many people with a questionable past have slipped right past the screening process and obtained super high level security clearances when they are clearly security threats? Now we got trailer trash agent, calling her friend or sister or whatever asking "how did Billy Bob find me?!?! I like... changed my name and stuff!!!"... While said friend is acting in front of the most comically over-the-top redneck house of skank set I've ever seen... If they had shown the front yard, I'm sure we'd see an old rusty moonshine still and a fresh batch of meth cooking in the shed.

I rolled my eyes a lot during the first two hours... but I suppose that's just what is expected after so many seasons of the show. Still, 24 is one of those guilty pleasures that I'll probably never give up on despite the ridiculous contrivances that just seem to get more transparent every season.

I, for one, am happy to see Katee Sackhoff. (Was she in this episode? Haven't seen it yet - no cable TV.)

I think 24 has become this decade's Walker Texas ranger.  It is so over the top and stupid and yet for some reason i keep watching. I only saw the first 20 minutes but I saw three or four people with the beard of evil.  I am pretty sure the Presedant is behind everything.  Also Katee Sackhoff will be dead before the season ends.

Woot!
Rene has gone full BAUER!
Is Jack getting soft?  It was only a couple of seasons ago he shot an informant point blank and cut off his head to broker a deal of his own!
