Rockstar's "Red Dead Redemption"
« on: November 30, 2009, 03:13:00 PM »

How sweet is that artwork? It's straight from a Sergio Leone spaghetti western. The sequel to one of the most underrated games that I can remember and one of the most underused genres has a release month. Release date is set for April, mark your calendars. I cannot wait.

Yep.  From the trailers and everything, it's on my radar.  I don't recall there being a decent open-world Western game either, so it'll be something new too.

New trailer:

Confirms the April 27, 2010 release date. Soundtrack sounds fantastic too.

I lost count of the Clint Eastwood Western references about halfway through that last trailer. Definitely gonna pick this one up.

Holy crap!  That looks incredible!

How was the first game in the series?  Was it anything like that?  I haven't played a good Western game since Outlaws.

Apparently it's not that much of an open world game.  And though I think Rockstar finished the game, they didn't develop it.

The first game was so much fun. Not sure how it holds up now but I loved it when it first came out.

Not necessarily bad things.

Agreed, but that's basically all I know about the game.  :)

The original has it's own charms, but it wasn't open world at all, it was much more linear in nature, and had a much less serious tone.  I think it had exploding midget clowns at one point.  Take that for what it's worth.

    • Yep, I have a deviantART gallery. But it's pretty cheerful drawings-- no angsty poems or black-and-white photos of wooden chairs.

Yeah, I saw that trailer the other night. And, barring damning reviews, WANT!

I have great faith in Rockstar to make a game worth buying. And this has the potential to be fucking AMAZING.
I used to have an image here, but Photobucket got cheap about remote linking. I guess I'll have to think of something witty instead. Which I will. Later. It caught me by surprise, in all honesty. It's hard to be clever on command, I mean, YOU try it. Be funny: NOW! See, tough. So, gimme a bit, 'kay?
