Guitar Hero VI -Warriors of Rock

Oh yeah. Activision did announce another one of these, didn't they?

The story mode sounds a little like Brutal Legend, but hopefully there won't be any RTS elements in a GH game. (Geez, Schafer. What were you thinking there?) But the story mode likely won't be any deeper than the stories in past GH games. Here's a partial set list.

I will say yay to Def Leppard and Dire Straits.

Guitar Hero is rapidly becoming the Asylum Films of music games. That said, the set list seems desirable enough to plunk down some cash when it gets down to $20.

Me? I'm renting! (I could either buy this or Fallout New Vegas.)

Anyway, here's the full set list.

I'm interested in the new style of game play, and I really liked Brutal Legend.  The songs don't get me too excited, but I've always preferred Guitar Hero for how fun the songs are to play.  I'm sure I'll rent it.

Been playing this game for a few hours now. It's fantastic. And the setlist really holds up.

I played with our roommate on his copy some last night (his first copy, purchased Friday, was unreadable; this is apparently a widespread problem with the 360 version). It's fine, but honestly, there's no overriding reason to buy it (especially if you already have Guitar Hero 5), unless you REALLY want the set list.

I'll disagree there, G. I really like what they've done with Quickplay. The fact that they're now keeping track of a bunch of different stats (streak length, whammy times, points scored in overdrive, etc.) for me is a great thing. I like to see if I'm making improvements with a song even if it's a minor one.

And on the quest, after you get domination, that ends up being a lot of fun.

The set list though? Meh. Some great songs. Some sucky. But I will note that the speed metal section wasn't as bad as I feared it would be.

Every time I hear that Muse song, I want to start singing "Spirit In The Sky."  :)

I bought this game last week.  It's the first home guitar game I've ever had, so I got the bundle with the controller for a hundred bucks.  I like it.  Decent set list, has some of my favorite songs.  It's really the kind of game I can just pick up and dick around with for an hour here or 20 minutes there.
