Facebook Officially Addicted to Farmville
« on: November 17, 2009, 02:46:34 AM »
So this game is insanely addicting. Not sure why, just is. For those that don't know its just this simple game where you level up, buy stuff for your farm, or do other pointless activities that have no busness in a videogame.  :D

Anyone else play?

I'm on there as well. So is Rifftrax Presents performer Matthew J. Elliott. It's a little surreal having him as a neighbor in that game.

I thought you were supposed to get your ducks in a row, not 3 rows.

I've currently weened myself off of all Facebook games.  It was surprisingly easy.

tried to get into farmville, but the game im stuck on is Mafia Wars. Just pointing and clicking and stuff, but i still have fun with it, just as a little thing to do to take my mind away from work for just a few minutes.

You know those companies make millions selling you and your friend's personal info right? Some of them like mafia wars flat out sign you up for things using your phone number and bill you through your phone company.

How would they get my phone number and all of that when i dont even post it on facebook? and yeah they have a lot of affiliate offers on the bottom to try and get your more points and stuff like, but its nothing im interested in or would sign up for anyway just because i know that most online deals like that are scams and your information is taken everywhere....but that is interesting that they claim to do that

Ironically it was this article that peeked my interest about Farmville. http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/10/31/scamville-the-social-gaming-ecosystem-of-hell/

The article reinforced my preconceptions but nonetheless I wanted to find out what all the hub bub was about and got addicted lol. Yes, I even checked out Mafiawars (aka mobsters) ... a game Ive been avoiding for about a year. The mob game isnt bad, but its not all that fun either IMO.

are you *really* saying that, or is that another one of those automated things the stupid game sends out, where it forces people say things like "lol your mentally retarded cow is so cute"
