Can someone explain how this movie became such a hit?
Doctor Who?:
I mean I can't think of a single reason anyone would want to see this movie once let alone 3 or 4 times. there can't be that many teenage girls out there and even if there are what on earth did they see in this movie.
Also it making a lot of money would be bad enough but ton of critics praised it as one of the best movies ever made :scared:
ManUnderMask:
It became a hit the same way Twilight became a hit.

Yeah. Lots of people went to see it. :P
Plastic Self-Cleaning Duck:
Same way Star Wars became a hit...only that deserved it.

Over and over and over...
Doctor Who?:
Yeah but why? Besides the Nearer to my God segment I can't think of one good thing to say about this movie and it's a verry long three hours. I could understand if it had one big weekend but the fact that people liked it enought to go back dozens of times confuses me.
Also while some people may have been fooled you would think film critics like Roger Ebert would know better than to give this movie four stars. Not to mention there has to have been a better picture released in 1997.
I just can't understand it.
Maybe someone who was a teenage girl at the time can explain what teenage girls saw in this movie because i have no idea how this would appeal to anyone from the planet earth.
