The ocean is a great place to dispose of irreplaceable jewelry

and the ghosts of the actors are condemned to haunt the Titanic for all eternity

I learned the Poker Face is apparently a fun song to make fun of.  Last nights South Park did a parody of it too.

I learned that one of Kevin's lines seemed to have gotten duplicated at the 3:03 or 3:04 mark.

Dear lord. The 3 hour mark.

Anyway, it does explain why Dis is a tad off in his timing.

I learned that Bernard Hill has a huge deathwish no matter what ship/nation of Middle Earth he's in charge of.

I learned that this didn't just happen to me as I thought it did.  I was listening using my laptop so I just assumed that my laptop had a hiccup since it had been giving me trouble all night.
"Did she just say Chipping?"

Yup, it's right after 3hrs 4mins when Kevin says "...gauge the success of their day by how many orderlies they shriek at." I just deleted the extra audio and it seemed to sync right back up.

It's possible to know what other people are doing and saying even when you aren't around.

You can come to America, abandon your family, have no money in the world and still never need to sell a huge ass diamond.

I learned historically that the captain of the Titanic was an idiot. Structurally speaking, the Titanic would have better survived a frontal impact with the iceberg instead of trying to maneuver around it. If he had made a more intelligent judgment call, a lot more people would have survived.

The Titanic's crew were cowards. They'd rather see women and children perish from the safety of a lifeboat.

The effort of abandoning ship was a disorganized mess.

I learned that if you have a rare jewel worth millions, it's better to throw it in the ocean for some dumbass symbolic reason than use it to take care of you and your family.

Captain Smith didn't make that call, it was First Officer Murdoch. Apparently Smith thought Murdoch was a dumbass as well because one of the crewmembers recalled him asking Murdoch about his decision and he replied that he was trying to "port around her." Whatever the hell that means. By all accounts Smith was an excellent ship captain, he just caved into pressure a little too easily.

I learned not to turn off the movie just as the credits start to roll, because then I won't be surprised at DisEmbodio's masterful cover of "My Heart Will Go On" without musical accompaniment.
Dammit, Maverick! Why don't you play by the rules?!

"Joel, what's a Harringway?"
"About a pound."
