Optimus Prime and Megatron sounded pretty badass, but honestly the rest of it seemed pretty lazy. The big decepticon satellite thing's voice in particular was just some guy doing a Dr. Claw impression.

Correction: It wasn't just some guy as you state. The reason why Soundwave sounded like Dr. Claw is because he was Dr. Claw aka Frank Welker who provided the voice of Dr. Claw in the Inspector Gadget cartoon. And that's also the voice he used for Soundwave in the G1 Transformers cartoon. They just tooled around with it in post production to get the signature Soundwave voice. Frank Welker was also the voice of the original G1 Megatron as well. So don't you even dare start bashing Frank Welker. I'm no fan of this movie franchise, but I do not fault the Voice Actors for making a living in their chosen career path.

Frank Welker is practically everything. On one of the Futurama commentaries they said he has the longest listing on IMDB. Not sure of the accuracy of that, but it seem plausible enough.
And Tom Kenny used almost the same exact voice for the little guy as he did for Ratbert on the Dilbert cartoon.

Considering that Frank Welker has been in the Voice Acting business since the 60's I can believe that. I don't think there's any other Voice Actor out there with as prolific a resume as Frank Welker.

Then, I have to *cringe* say that Bay did something right *gag*.....he used real voice actors to do voice work instead of getting "names" to come in and do it just to impress their children.

(Billy West did a whole rant on that)

He would indeed have one of the longest. Primarily because he get's brought in a lot to do animal noises and other vocal effects. He isn't always doing a cartoon voice. Considering Welker's IMDB resume has over 600 acting credits, 24 music department (vocal effects) credits, another 5 in misc crew, & 3 soundtrack listing credits (Futurama for the dogs "Walking on Sunshine", Troll for the chant, and Na na hey hey from Bender's big score).

The guy is just about everything. In Deep Blue Sea he did the parrot sounds, He does all the animal voices for The Simpsons,

Used a free promo code for Red Box to rent it. Saw it in theater, also for free (movie pass for buying Ghostbusters: The Video Game). Didn't like the repetition of the "whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa" joke, but otherwise it was quite enjoyable. I wonder if the whole Titanic joke was meant to be a clue to the next release, or if it was just because they had it on the mind.

Yup. He voices dogs and other animals all the time..

I've always wanted his talent so I can go in bark like a dog for an hour then pick up a check and go squawk like a bid and get another check then go home.

He'd been Nibbler in Futurama, Santa's Little Helper (and other animals) on Simpsons, The bird in Deep Blue Sea, Woof and Ace the Bathound in Batman Beyond, Vocal effects in Godzilla '98, The Anaconda in Anaconda, special vocal effects in Independece Day (stuff like the dog), Abu in Alladin, Slimer in The Real Ghostbusters, and many many many more..

seriously read through his IMDB credits.. it is insane...

I would now like to say, completely unrelated to the above, that I thought the joke about the frat guy's response about finding a tighter shirt was pretty funny.

I agree this was the only thing that I laughed at when I saw the movie.  I saw this in the theater, and the whole time, the audience was laughing hysterically.  I kept looking around wondering what was going on.  Then the tight shirt joke came.  I laughed out loud, and the rest of the audience was crickets chirping.

Boy, that sounds a lot like the time I went to the theater to see Date Movie.  Except instead of laughing, I walked out of the theater.
